WINNIPEG — A police pursuit early Sunday ended with the arrest of a 37-year-old man after he crashed a stolen Toyota Corolla.
Officers spotted the vehicle at around 1:35 a.m. in the area of Manitoba Avenue and Parr Street. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed, resulting in Air 1 being called in to maintain a visual as officers on the ground halted their pursuit.
The vehicle then collided with another car at the intersection of Arlington Street and Winnipeg Avenue about five minutes later.
A man and a toddler in the second vehicle were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. Both were later released.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and faces numerous charges. Police say a warrant was also out for his arrest and they recovered a gun inside the vehicle.
