It’s a chance to get an inside look at Winnipeg’s law courts complex — without finding yourself entangled in the judicial system.
The Manitoba Bar Association and Manitoba Justice are presenting Law Day on Sunday, April 15 in conjunction with similar events held throughout the country on the same day.
From noon to 3:30 p.m., events will include mock trials presented by elementary and senior high school students, a special sitting of Citizenship Court, debates by junior high and high school students, and legal information sessions, along with display booths by law-related agencies.
Public tours of the law courts complex will also be given.
Demonstrations by a drug detection dog and handler at scheduled for 12:15 p.m., 1 p.m. 1:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the 4th floor mezzanine. Additional demonstrations by a victim services intervention dog and handler will be held at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. in the main floor rotunda.
