Four people are facing charges after Winnipeg police say they entered a convenience store on Thursday morning and took several items off the shelves.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Salter Street at around 8:30 a.m. and say a clerk reported one of the suspects said they “could do what they want.”
The group left the store with their loot, while one of them pulled out a large machete and threatened the clerk. The employee wasn’t injured.
Officers caught up with the suspects in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue after a short foot pursuit. One of them was picked up in the 500 block of Burrows Avenue.
Police found a replica handgun, replica firearm, and a machete. The weapons were stapped to the bodies of the suspects and concealed under their clothing.
Two 18-year-old men, a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy face weapons and robbery charges. They remain in custody.
