It’s the last time the giant big top will rise at the corner of Kenaston Boulevard and Sterling Lyon Parkway.
Cavalia Odysseo — the largest touring show of its kind — returns to Winnipeg on May 12 before production eventually ramps down on the show.
The white big top will soon be home to 70 horses, 50 riders, acrobats, aerialists dancers and musicians when it opens for the second time in the city since 2015.
The tent spans a height of 125 feet and includes four other tents, including for a horse stable, Rendez-Vous VIP area, the warm-up and artistic tent, and the kitchen tent for 150 permanent employees. At its base? More than 58,000 square feet of space — the equivalent of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ football field;
The production is also incorporating a special local guest by inviting Winnipeg singer-songwriter Maria Aragon to perform. The 17-year-old gained viral fame in a few years ago with her rendition of Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way” took off. Aragon eventually performed on stage with Gaga when her tour came to Winnipeg.
Tickets to Cavalia Odysseo range in price from $29.50 to $149.50 and are available through Ticketmaster. Matinee and evening performances are scheduled through Sunday, June 10.
