Allegations of sexual assault against a young boy in Brandon have revealed the same man may have also sexually assaulted the boy’s mother.
Brandon police say they began investigating in March after a complaint that the boy — who was between the ages of three and five — was sexually assaulted by his step-grandfather between 2011 and 2014.
Police say they also discovered the same man may have also sexually assaulted his stepdaughter between 1994 and 2007.
The 61-year-old Brandon suspect was arrested on Wednesday and charged with numerous offences. He was released on a promise to appear in court in June.
In a separate matter, police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old Brandon boy, who is accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy he was babysitting two years ago. He has been charged with sexual exploitation and sexual interference. The teen will appear in court in June.
