WINNIPEG — One man was killed early Friday when the vehicle he was driving collided into the side of the Nygard International building on Notre Dame Avenue.
Police were called to the scene at around 5:40 a.m., where a van had crashed into the side wall of the building at the intersection of Notre Dame and Weston Street.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say the van was travelling westbound on Notre Dame at the time when the accident happened. Upon impact, the vehicle caught fire.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
