Two Police Officers Sent to Hospital When Cruiser Strikes Building

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo Winnipeg police officers were taken to hospital in stable condition on Saturday after their cruiser struck a building.

Police say the patrol unit was travelling southbound on Main Street responding to a high-priority call at around 1:05 p.m. when it was involved in a collision with a vehicle in the area of Polson Avenue. The cruiser then hit a nearby building.

Police say the vehicle had its emergency lighting and sirens activated at the time of the collision.

One person in the other vehicle was sent to hospital in unstable condition for precautionary reasons.
