Three Suspects Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Stolen SUV

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG – Three people were taken into police custody on Saturday after officers spotted a stolen SUV shortly before midnight.

Police say they noticed the speeding vehicle travelling westbound on Polson Avenue near Sinclair Street and attempted to pull it over. When the vehicle took off, Air 1 was assigned to track its location.

The suspects eventually turned northbound on McPhillips Street and were later seen circling a condominium complex off Murray Avenue.

The vehicle continued to speed southbound McPhillips Street and eventually turned eastbound on Jarvis Avenue where it came to a sudden stop near Sinclair Street and the occupants fled on foot.

Officers on the ground, with the assistance of Air 1 and the K9 unit, tracked three suspects and took them into custody.

Traedon Troy Cook, 19, Travis Freddie Ducharme, 20, and a 19-year-old woman — all from Winnipeg — face numerous charges.

Police say the vehicle was originally stolen from an auto dealership in the 3700 block of Portage Avenue between April 8 and April 21. It was bearing a stolen licence plate from a vehicle in the 100 block of Buxton Road between April 12 and April 17.
