The Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed right-handed pitchers Jack Charleston and Tyler Beardsley to the team’s 2018 roster.
Charleston pitched at two levels of the Chicago White Sox’ organization in 2017, combining for a 3-2 record, 12 saves, and a 2.42 ERA in 34 relief appearances for the High-A Carolina League’s Winston-Salem Dash and the Double-A Southern League’s Birmingham Barons.
Charleston was drafted by the White Sox in the 30th round in 2015 out of Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. During his first three professional seasons, the 25-year-old right-hander owns a 3.17 ERA, 18 saves, and has given up only four home runs in 139.1 career innings.
The Goldeyes now have 28 players under contract for the 2018 season.
