About 15,000 people gather on the streets outside Bell MTS Place for the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party on Friday, April 20, 2018. (WINNIPEG JETS)
Organizers of Monday’s Whiteout Street Party are expecting 23,000 people will gather outside Bell MTS Place as the Winnipeg Jets look to clinch the second-round series against the Nashville Predators in Game 6.
Throw in a weather forecast set to reach near 30°C, and the party will definitely be on.
Gates to the party open at 6 p.m. given the later puck drop time of 8:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to come prepared for the weather and to stay hydrated. Economic Development Winnipeg says security will be checking water bottles for alcohol, but fans will be allowed to bring in water in a clear or translucent bottle. Water will also be available for purchase onsite.
DJ Co-op will be performing a live post-game concert on the main stage at Donald and St. Mary Avenue.
Party access
- The Donald and Portage entrance will close at 8 p.m. (or earlier).
- The Smith and Portage entrance will remain open, allowing people to enter the site as others leave.
- The Hargrave and Graham entrance will also remain open, allowing people to enter the site as others leave.
Bring a Tin for the Bin
Donations are once again being collected for Winnipeg Harvest. Last Thursday, Jets fans donated 2,700 lbs of food and nearly $3,500.
