RCMP are investigating two separate homicides in Manitoba.
Officers with the Powerview detachment were sent to check on the owner of a residence in Belair on May 6 when they found the 80-year-old man deceased.
The death is being treated as a homicide. Police say there isn’t a threat to public safety as a result.
On May 8, a 30-year-old man from Oxford House was taken to the local nursing station after an assault with a weapon. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Margaret Chubb, 30, has been charged with second-degree murder. She will appear in Thompson court on Thursday. RCMP say the accused and the victim were known to each other and both residents of Oxford House.
Police continue to investigate both incidents.
