Winnipeg police have arrested two people after finding weapons and drugs during a traffic stop Tuesday.

Police were observing a vehicle on Cecil Street and Logan Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. when a computer check showed the car’s owner had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

Police pulled the car over and found the owner and a passenger inside. A search found:

  • Two cans of bear spray
  • A knife
  • A telescopic baton
  • A hatchet
  • 109 Percocet pills
  • 1 gram of meth
  • About $455 in cash
  • Four mobile phones

Police arrested Joseph Richard Laquette, 33, and a 30-year-old woman and charged them both with numerous weapons and drug possession offenses.

She was released on a promise to appear, while Lauquette remains in custody.
