Winnipeg police have arrested two people after finding weapons and drugs during a traffic stop Tuesday.
Police were observing a vehicle on Cecil Street and Logan Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. when a computer check showed the car’s owner had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
Police pulled the car over and found the owner and a passenger inside. A search found:
- Two cans of bear spray
- A knife
- A telescopic baton
- A hatchet
- 109 Percocet pills
- 1 gram of meth
- About $455 in cash
- Four mobile phones
Police arrested Joseph Richard Laquette, 33, and a 30-year-old woman and charged them both with numerous weapons and drug possession offenses.
She was released on a promise to appear, while Lauquette remains in custody.
