WINNIPEG — A woman was robbed and stabbed while walking in the 700 block of Maryland Street early Tuesday.
The victim was approached by two females who demanded her property at around 12:10 a.m. The woman complieted, but was then stabbed multiple times in the upper body. She was taken to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable.
Officers located one of the suspects at around 1:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Sargent Avenue.
Billie Jo Cooke of Winnipeg, 30, has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and failing to comply with a recognizance order.
A 16-year-old girl was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and charged with similar offences, including possession of a weapon.
Both suspects remain in custody.
