The accident happened at around noon near the Cape Coppermine boat launch on the Lee River in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

RCMP say emergency personnel were first to arrive after bystanders quickly brought the man to shore and provided first aid until EMS arrived.

The 40-year-old was later pronounced deceased on scene.

Police say it’s unclear what led to the collision and the man was the only occupant on the boat.
