Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A 15-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly groping two women in downtown skywalks within the past week.

A woman in her 30s was grabbed in the skywalk near Bell MTS Place and Cityplace on May 18. The following day, a woman in her late teens was grabbed in the walkway between the YMCA and Portage Place.

A third woman in her late teens reported that a male was acting suspiciously around her on May 19 in Portage Place. Police said the latest incident may have been related to the first two.

Winnipeg police appealed to the public and released surveillance photos of the suspect, who they believed to be in his 20s based on descriptions.

An officer patrolling the skywalk on Tuesday recognized the suspect and took him into custody near Portage Avenue and Vaughn Street.

The teen was charged with two counts of sexual assault and released on a promise to appear.
