RCMP say the 71-year-old man was travelling on Provincial Road 213 near Lornehill Road, in the RM of Springfield, at around 11 p.m. He was hit from behind by a 16-year-old East St. Paul driver, which resulted in the rider being thrown from his motorcycle.

He was then hit by a second westbound vehicle being driven by a 30-year-old Portage la Prairie woman.

A third vehicle heading westbound on PR 213 also hit the motorcyclist, but fled the area without stopping.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. It’s not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information on the third driver is asked to contact Oakbank RCMP at (204) 444-3847.
