People worried about speeding in their neighbourhoods can now send drivers a friendly reminder as they zoom on by.
The Winnipeg Committee for Safety, a citizen-advisory committee to City Council, launched the Please Slow Down lawn sign campaign Friday, June 8.
“Lawn signs will be provided to each Councillor to distribute throughout their respective wards,” reads a city press release. “Citizens interested in getting a sign are encouraged to contact their area Councillor’s office to make arrangements. It will be up to each Councillor’s discretion how they would like to distribute the signs.”
There are a limited number of signs and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to the sign. Signs should be placed on a homeowner’s lawn, not the boulevard, or they will be removed.
