RCMP in Portage la Prairie have charged the driver of a vehicle after it struck a tree early Friday.
A 19-year-old man was a passenger in the pickup truck when it lost control in Island Park just before 2 a.m. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Brandon Friesen, 18, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Police continue to investigate.
