The Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed right-handed pitcher Carter Johnson.
The Fish added the La Jolla, California native to the team on Saturday, making it his first professional debut.
Johnson just completed his redshirt senior season at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, where he was 1-6 with a 4.89 ERA in nine starts and five relief appearances.
Johnson started his college career at San Jose State University, and was granted a medical redshirt following his freshman year in 2014. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder transferred to Palomar Junior College where he was 4-4 with a 3.66 ERA in 51.2 innings as a redshirt sophomore in 2016.
The Goldeyes are back in action today at Shaw Park to finish up a three-game series against the Chicago Dogs.
