Manitoba Hydro crews are working to restore power to a number of areas following a late spring storm Thursday evening.

Outages remain in the Killarney, Morden and Portage la Prairie areas due to the active weather system that passed through the province.

Hydro says additional staff have been called in to help restore power to customers as quickly as possible. Restoration efforts are expected to continue into this evening.

Approximately 2,000 customers were without power as of 10:30 a.m.

Hydro says damage from the storm includes trees on power lines, downed power lines, broken poles and damaged transformers and other equipment.
