A mother and her 13-year-old son were pepper-sprayed in a Brandon back lane on Tuesday.
Emergency crews were called to the rear of a Green Acres home at around 8 p.m., where they determined the victims were sprayed by another 13-year-old boy known to the woman’s son.
Both victims were taken to Brandon Regional Health Centre for treatment.
The suspect was located at his home and found to be in possession of bear spray. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a prohibited weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.
He was released and will appear in court July 17.
