Gym rats in Winnipeg can now flex their muscles at the first Planet Fitness location in Manitoba.
The U.S.-based fitness centre opened its 25th Canadian location in the south end of the city on June 14.
“Canada marked our first international expansion and it’s clear that Canadians were looking for an affordable and judgement free fitness option,” said Planet Fitness CEO Chris Rondeau, in a statement.
“The warmth and enthusiasm with which every club has been received tells us this approach has resonated with Canadians.”
Planet Fitness is known for its affordable monthly memberships, which begin at $10 for unlimited use of the club and free fitness training. A Black Card membership at $21.99 per month allows users access to tanning, hydromassage, massage chairs, spray tanning, reciprocal use of all Planet Fitness locations, unlimited guest workout privileges and a discount on Reebok products and cooler drinks.
The company also operates in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
Winnipeg’s location is at 2855 Pembina Highway in the former Rogers Plus building.
