Manitobans are primed to enjoy their summer at some sort of festival.

Leading the events that most Manitobans will find themselves at this season is the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Those are the findings from a new survey released by research firm PRA Inc.

“When asked to name any local summer festivals or events taking place in Manitoba, the ‘F’ festivals (Folk, Folklorama, and Fringe) were most commonly named by Manitobans, with Winnipeg Folk Festival leading the way at 45 percent,” the survey says.

Outside of Winnipeg, the most common events to attend were Dauphin’s Countryfest (nine percent) and the Morden Corn & Apple Festival (six percent).

Of those surveyed, 74 percent plan on attending at least one summer festival or event, with the typical Manitoban expecting to take in just over two festivals or events (2.3 percent on average).
