Two men were arrested Monday after allegedly swiping $15,000 worth of tools and building materials from a south Winnipeg construction site.
Winnipeg police were alerted by a security company at around 5:10 a.m. that the suspects were seen on surveillance entering the site in the 800 block of Sterling Lyon Parkway.
Officers arrived to find the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene, which later turned into a driveway of a home in the 100 block of Kestrel Street. The two got out of the vehicle and claimed they were doing work on the residence.
Police say the investigation has found the suspects broke into the fenced site while wearing high-visibility construction clothing and concealing their faces.
The stolen material was recovered from within the vehicle and both men were arrested at the scene.
Ryan Jerry Joseph Danis, 37, and Rickie Allen Brown, 31, have been charged. They remain in custody.
