Winnipeg police came across a cache of weapons when they spotted a stolen vehicle last weekend.
Officers were in the area of McPhillips Street and Selkirk Avenue in the early hours of July 20 when they saw the vehicle travelling southbound.
They followed it and called in Air 1 for assistance in tracking the vehicle. It came to a stop in the 1500 block of Ross Avenue West and three people were taken into custody.
Officers discovered inside:
- A loaded .303 calibre rifle
- A loaded 12 gauge shotgun
- 15 .303 cartridges (ammunition)
- 9 .30-30 cartridges (ammunition)
- Ammunition magazine
- A crossbow
- Bear spray
The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from the William Whyte neighbourhood sometime between July 16 and 17.
Cherish Marie Irene Henry, 32, Gordon William Kovich, 28, and Vincent Edgar Urniezius, 48, face several weapons-related charges.
All three remain in custody.
