Man Randomly Stabbed in Winnipeg Walmart Parking Lot: Police

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital Tuesday afternoon when he was stabbed in the parking lot of Walmart in St. James.

The victim told police he was in the area of Ellice Avenue and Empress Street at around 4:50 p.m. when an unknown male ran towards him. The victim slipped and fell and that’s when the suspect took out a knife and stabbed him once in the upper body, according to police.

The man remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police say the suspect didn’t rob the man during the assault.

Officers and the K9 unit were unable to track the suspect.
