Goldeyes Acquire Outfielder Dexter Kjerstad

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired outfielder Dexter Kjerstad from the Kansas City T-Bones in exchange for a player to be named later.

Kjerstad hit .252 with four home runs and 30 RBI in 57 games for the T-Bones this season. The Amarillo, Texas native finished 2017 in Kansas City where he batted .379 in 17 contests.

Kjerstad signed with the Kansas City Royals as a non-drafted free agent in 2014. After parts of two seasons in the Royals’ system, Kjerstad finished 2015 in the American Association with the Amarillo Thunderheads.

His addition to the Fish puts Winnipeg at 22 active players on their roster.

The Goldeyes close out a three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks today at 1 p.m. at Shaw Park. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the Goldeyes box office.
