Manitoba’s police watchdog is probing a fatal confrontation involving Winnipeg police on Saturday.
The Independent Investigation Unit says a 34-year-old man was Tasered by police in the area of Logan Avenue and Princess Street when he allegedly threatened officers.
The man became unresponsive and was taken to Health Sciences Centre where he was pronounced deceased.
The IIU says a request for a civilian monitor has been made to the Manitoba Police Commission as the matter involves a fatality.
