A vehicle stolen from West St. Paul, Manitoba earlier this week was tracked by Air 1 as the suspect fled at a high speed through Winnipeg streets.
Police spotted the vehicle on Thursday mroning in the area of McGregor Street and Boyd Avenue.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at McGregor Street and Dufferin Avenue, but the driver sped away.
Police on the ground backed off and let Air 1 follow the vehicle until it crashed through a guardrail at Hallet Street and Rover Avenue and came to a stop on an embankment. The driver fled and was tracked as he tried to hide in a bush to take cover.
A 23-year-old Winnipeg man was arrested a short time later.
He faces several charges and remains in police custody.
