One of three inmates injured in an assault at Stony Mountain Institution on Thursday night has died.

Adam Kent Monias, 25, was serving an indeterminate sentence for second-degree murder, aggravated assault and uttering threats since June 3, 2015.

Officials say his next of kin has been notified.

Monias was one of three people sent to hospital after being injured in the jail’s medium security unit. Stony Mountain remains in lockdown and visits have been suspended until a security check can be completed.

An investigation into the assaults is continuing.
