The days of printing off a ticket to see a Winnipeg Jets game or other events at Bell MTS Place are over.
True North Sports + Entertainment is moving to a digital-only ticketing system for the upcoming 2018-19 NHL season. Fans with smartphones will have their tickets loaded up on the NHL app for easy admission to the venue.
Those without smartphones can still pick up physical tickets by showing government-issued ID at the box office.
The new digital-only ticketing policy also extends to events at the nearby Burton Cummings Theatre.
Several NHL teams and sports/entertainment venues in North America follow a similar system.
The move is said to make the ticketing process more environmentally friendly and help to protect against counterfeit and stolen tickets.
