Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) announced a gift of $2 million from Sean McCoshen in support of the Imagine a Place Campaign and the development of Canada’s Diversity Gardens on Wednesday.
The donation was announced at APC’s annual Garden Party fundraising event held in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden and will be recognized at the McCoshen Event Hall located within The Leaf at Canada’s Diversity Gardens.
“This is a very special gift and we couldn’t be more thankful as we continue to progress with the development of what will be an unparalleled horticultural masterpiece in Manitoba”, said Margaret Redmond, President & CEO of Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “This donation will go a long way towards making Canada’s Diversity Gardens a reality.”
“I’m very pleased to be supporting a project of such significance in our province,” said Sean McCoshen, Chairman, A2A Rail USA LLC and Chairman, Alberta – Alaska Railway Development Corporation. “I have no doubt that once open, Canada’s Diversity Gardens will be a world-class facility, drawing visitors from across the globe.”
Scheduled to open in late 2020, Canada’s Diversity Gardens will be an iconic horticultural attraction for Winnipeg, Manitoba, and for Canada.
