Neepawa Man Charged After Police Seize Weapons, Meth

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A Neepawa man is in police custody, facing several drugs and weapons charges.

Police say the suspect was reported to be driving with a gun in the area of Wolseley Avenue and Maryland Street on Sunday evening.

A vehicle matching the description was spotted by officers unoccupied in the 300 block of Honeyman Avenue a short time later. The suspect was found to be in a restaurant near Maryland Street and Portage Avenue and taken into custody.

Police seized a large hunting knife, methamphetamine valued at $2,250, an MP 40 submachine gun, a loaded MP 40 magazine with additional ammunition, and a .22 calibre revolver.

Brent Travis Lehocky, 30, faces 12 weapons charges and possession of methamphetamine offences.
