WINNIPEG — A popular eatery at The Forks is calling it quits after 20 years.

Muddy Waters will close its doors at the end of the month after serving up authentic BBQ with a side of blues.

“We’ve had a great run and enjoyed serving our many friends from throughout Winnipeg and beyond,” said Doug Stephen, owner of Muddy Waters and President of WOW Hospitality Concepts.

“The Forks is moving in a different direction and the time has come for us to move forward.”

Stephens says Muddy Waters will continue to serve patrons until September 30, as well as host a pop-up restaurant.

“We want to leave on a high note and give our guests something special before we’re gone. We’re also perfecting some new chicken and burger recipes that we’re excited to share for the first time.”

As thank you gesture to the community, the restaurant will also hold a farewell reunion party of over 2,000 staff members from past and present throughout the month of September.
