The first two retail locations for legal cannabis in Manitoba have been revealed.
Winnipeg-based Delta 9 will open, what they call, a cannabis “superstore” in St. Vital on October 17, along with a second location in downtown Thompson, Manitoba.
The Winnipeg location will be 3,200 square feet in St. Vital Square at 827 Dakota Street. The store will also include a cannabis education centre on the premises.
“This location in St. Vital is a great site for a retail store like ours,” said Marshall Posner, Delta 9’s vice-president of marketing.
“It’s a location with a lot of vehicular and foot traffic, and being located in the main shopping area for this neighbourhood it’s really a central destination for most of the people who live in that area of town.”
The Thompson location will be located at City Centre Mall adjacent to anchor tenants Walmart and Safeway.
Delta 9 is currently awaiting provincial approval for two more outlets on properties that have already been secured. One of those potential outlets is located in Osborne Village, while the other is located in downtown Brandon.
