O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree.
Yes, it’s almost that time — at least for those tasked with finding Winnipeg’s next Christmas tree to sit pretty at City Hall.
The city is searching for a homeowner who wouldn’t mind giving up their 40-50-foot spruce. The tree must be fully symmetrical with a single trunk and no brown needles. It also has to be easily accessible in a front yard with no adjacent overhead utilities.
The city’s Urban Forestry Branch staff will select the tree that best meets the identified criteria. The tree will be removed at no cost to the resident, as well as clean up of associated debris.
Homeowners interested in nominated their tree for consideration can contact 311. The tree will eventually be moved to City Hall and decorated with Christmas lights for the holiday season.
