Controlled burns are being carried out in parts of Winnipeg beginning Tuesday.
The city’s Public Works Department, along with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, will be conducting the burns as part of the preservation and restoration of prairies.
A lack of fire allows weeds to envade endangered plant communities.
The burns will be conducted through November 15, weather permitting.
