A man stopped for speeding along a Manitoba highway received much more than just a speeding ticket.

RCMP stopped a vehicle September 20 on Highway 6 near Deer Horn Line for going 132 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The officer could smell marijuana from inside the vehicle and the driver produced a burnt joint. A further search of the vehicle turned up 2,000 grams of vacuum-sealed marijuana and a large quantity of cash.

Anthony Ross of The Pas, 54, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as for speeding and driving while disqualified.

Ross will appear in court in Lundar, Manitoba on November 15.
