The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce is welcoming a new chair into the fold this week.

Accountant Scott Sissons, partner at KPMG LLP, will be sworn in as the Chamber’s 122nd chair by Mayor Brian Bowman during the AGM on Thursday.

“The business environment is being disrupted so quickly by a variety of forces, and I really feel The Chamber can support our members’ success,” Sissons said in a statement.

“I look forward to meeting as many people in the membership and community as possible to help to drive forward The Chamber’s mission of helping Winnipeg business prosper.”

Sissons’s professional experience includes working with small start-up enterprises to not-for-profits and medium-sized growing companies to large established corporations.

Sissons’s term follows Johanna Hurme (co-founder of 5468796 Architecture) and precedes Jessica Dumas (Jessica Dumas Coaching and Training), who will serve this year as incoming chair.

The Chamber’s annual general meeting is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Radisson Winnipeg.
