Manitoba Hydro crews have restored power to the Parkland and Neepawa regions following wet snow earlier this week, but there may be more downed lines that still require attention.

Hydro spokesperson Bruce Owen tells ChrisD.ca they’re asking people who may be heading out of town for the long weekend in those regions to ask a neighbour to check their property for downed lines or trees on a line.

“Essentially, we’ve got crews ready to go — they just need to know where to go,” Owen says.

The same advice is being communicated to Manitobans travelling to cottage country for the long weekend, especially the Grand Beach, Belair and Victoria Beach areas, which also saw outages.

Hydro customers can make a report online or call toll-free 1-888-624-9376.
