RCMP say two people were walking home from work on October 5 when two men on bikes approached them at knifepoint and demanded their property.
The victims handed over a cell phone, debit card, money and a backpack.
While investigating, RCMP received a report of another armed robbery in the area. The suspects used a screwdriver in the second incident, but were apprehended by police.
Most of the stolen items were recovered, along with the screwdriver.
Police later obtained a search warrant for a home on 2nd Street NW in Portage la Prairie, where the stolen backpack from the first robbery was found.
Christian Meeches, 20, of Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba and Harlen Hart of Winnipeg, 20, remain in custody and face several charges.
