A four-year-old child drowned Thursday night in St. Theresa Point First Nation after going missing earlier in the evening.

RCMP were called by safety officers in the community for a presumed drowning shortly after midnight Friday.

The child was last seen at around 4:40 p.m. close to a family member’s residence.
