Two boaters were found deceased Sunday after being reported overdue after they left Moose Lake, Manitoba on Saturday.

RCMP say five fishermen headed towards the Big Island Camp, approximately 10 kilometres southeast of Moose Lake, at around 2 p.m.

Only one boat carrying three fishermen arrived at the camp.

RCMP say overnight weather conditions were poor with blowing snow and high winds. Local residents went looking for the boaters the following day, finding the Moose Lake men deceased within the boat. The men, aged 39 and 49, were found at around 4:10 p.m. Sunday in the 22-foot boat, which had drifted on the gravel shore and was partially submerged.

Autopsies are scheduled and police continue to investigate.
