Winnipeg police have charged the driver of a vehicle accused of assaulting a fellow motorist driving in front of him.
Police say the 49-year-old victim was driving in the area of Corydon Avenue and Wentworth Street on the evening of October 13 when the assaut occurred. Several people nearby witnessed the incident and contacted police.
Police say the suspect was driving on Corydon Avenue near Lilac Street when he became upset with the other driver. He stopped his vehicle and seriously assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition with significant upper body injuries.
On Tuesday, police arrested Devon Anthony Naylor, 22, during a traffic stop in the 400 block of Corydon Avenue. He has been charged with aggravated assault, mischief under $5,000 and driving without a licence.
Naylor remains in custody.
