Winnipeg Man Charged with Impaired Driving in Pembina Highway Crash

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — Two people were sent to hospital early Sunday and a pickup truck was flipped on its side after a two-vehicle collision on Pembina Highway at Bishop Grandin Boulevard.

Emergency crews responded at around 5 a.m. when a pickup truck travelling northbound on Pembina collided with PT cruiser making a southbound turn from Bishop Grandin.

The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Winnipeg man, was sent to hospital in critical condition, but later upgraded to stable. The driver of the second vehicle was listed in unstable condition, but has since also been upgraded.

The pickup truck driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving due to alcohol causing bodily harm, as well as failing to provide a sample.

He was released on a promise to appear.
