Police Find Pair Producing Cocaine in Winnipeg Hotel Room

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo people were arrested and charged Monday after Winnipeg police raided a drug operation inside a hotel on Wellington Avenue.

Police were investigating drug trafficking at the hotel when they spotted a suspect leaving the property at around 1:10 p.m.

Chad Corry Ducharme, 43, was arrested and found to be in possession of eight grams of heroin worth $3,200, 22 grams of cocaine worth $1,200, 279 grams of methamphetamine worth $8,750 and $15,560 in cash. He was also carrying a Taser.

Police searched the hotel room and found instruments meant to cook cocaine powder into crack cocaine.

Ducharme faces numerous drugs and weapons charges.

Officers also arrested Leanna Marie Kaltenthaler, 32, and charged her with possession of heroin and failing to comply with conditions.

Both people remain in custody.
