Winnipeg police have arrested seven people as part of Operation Northern Spotlight, an investigation with several Canadian police agencies into human trafficking.
From October 15-21, members of the Winnipeg police Counter Exploitation Unit made contact with 36 people believed to be sexually exploited and victims of human trafficking. Those identified ranged in ages of 18-48.
Police also arrested seven people between the ages of 19-56 for obtaining sexual services for consideration.
The investigation also led to the seizure of seven vehicles under the Highway Traffic Act for prostitution services.
