A Sandy Bay First Nation man has been handed a hefty ticket for supplying marijuana to a minor.

Manitoba First Nations Police says a 13-year-old youth attended school last Friday afternoon and was suspected of being under the influence of cannabis.

Police say the youth admitted to smoking marijuana and told them who had supplied it. Police located the man and issued him a $2,542 ticket for supplying cannabis to a young person under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act.

Sandy Bay First Nation is located about 170 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
