WINNIPEG — Manitoba Hydro has the new first female president and CEO to lead the organization.
The Crown corporation’s board has appointed Jay Grewal to the position, effective February 1, 2019.
Grewal takes over for Kelvin Shepherd, who is retiring on November 16, but will stay on until February to ensure an orderly transition.
“Ms. Grewal is a proven leader, with extensive senior leadership experience in the utility, resource and consulting sectors,” said Crown Services Minister Colleen Mayer.
“She will join Manitoba Hydro from Northwest Territories Power Corporation, where she currently serves as president and chief executive officer.”
Grewal’s other professional experience comes from her time in senior executive roles with Capstone Mining Corp, Accenture Inc., B.C. Hydro and CIBC World Markets.
