Two teens are in custody after a scuffle on a Winnipeg Transit bus.

Police responded to the area of Osborne Street and York Avenue Wednesday afternoon for a report of someone armed with a knife on board the bus.

One of the suspects became involved in a struggle with another man on the bus prior to police arrival. Officers descended on the scene to find a man holding down a male youth suspect, while a female youth was attacking the man.

The male youth became violent while being arrested and resisted officers. The female spit at and threatened an officer.

The man who intervened received minor injuries, but didn’t require medical attention.

A 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl — both from Winnipeg — have been charged with assault and other offences.

Police say both suspects were intoxicated at the time and taken to hospital as a precaution.
